According to Strategy Analytics, Samsung is now the biggest smartphone dealer in the world.

“Global smartphone shipments grew 44 percent annually to reach a record 117 million units in Q3 2011. Samsung shipped 28 million smartphones and overtook Apple to become the world’s largest smartphone vendor by volume with 24 percent market share. Samsung’s rise has been driven by a blend of elegant hardware designs, popular Android services, memorable sub-brands and extensive global distribution. Samsung has demonstrated that it is possible, at least in the short term, to differentiate and grow by using the Android ecosystem.”,  Alex Spektor, Senior Analyst at Strategy Analytics.

Capturing Firework (Nokia N8)
This firework photos might be not special. But, what makes it special (for me) is that it was captured using my Nokia N8 :D When I was working, I just run out to see it. Fired up my camera phone, adjust some settings in few seconds, press the camera shutter. Not bad for a first attempt, right? :)

The Daily Dozen feature on National Geographic, edited by photo editor Susan Welchman, is a treasure trove of neat “Your Shots” photos submitted by the magazine’s readers (a selection of which will actually appear on the magazine itself – talk about awesome!).

The Periodic Table of Typefaces

The Table of Typefaces groups by families and classes of typefaces: sans-serif, serif, script, blackletter, glyphic, display, grotesque, realist, didone, garalde, geometric, humanist, slab-serif and mixed.
Each cell of the table lists the typeface and a one or two character “symbol” (made up by me simply based on logic), the designer, year designed and a ranking of 1 through 100. (source)
